As part of an in-depth report on dyslexia, Spectrum News 1 interviewed several experts at Marburn Academy about students with learning differences. In the video, faculty and staff discuss the neurological roots of dyslexia, why it makes learning language and reading especially hard for students with learning differences, and the effective teaching methods Marburn uses to teach strategies and skills. Additionally, Spectrum News 1 reporter Aliah Keller took part in an exercise that mimics the challenges dyslexia presents and experienced the frustration and difficulty students often face in traditional learning environments.
