MARBURN ACADEMY AND SENSIBLE LEARNING PARTNER TO EXPAND
“SCIENCE OF READING” RESOURCES TO CENTRAL OHIO
Orton-Gillingham Training Available Soon to Area Educators
New Albany, OH (September 5, 2025) – Marburn Academy (Marburn), a leading independent day school devoted to serving the needs of students who learn differently, and Sensible Learning, an organization of structured literacy coaches and Orton-Gillingham training experts, today announced an innovative partnership to provide high-quality, accredited “Science of Reading” training to educators across Central Ohio.
This collaboration unites two organizations with a shared focus: to equip teachers with the skills and resources needed to effectively address dyslexia and other learning differences in students. The partnership comes at a critical time, aligning with Governor DeWine’s increased focus on “Science of Reading” initiatives throughout the state.
“Kristi Perry, Beth Reusser, and Cyndi Schultz of Sensible Learning have long been valued partners of Marburn Academy,” said Eldrich Carr. “This collaboration, particularly with Marburn’s esteemed Fellow Lisa Neuhoff, is a pivotal step for our community, allowing us to collectively advance the “Science of Reading” at a time when it’s a top priority for our state’s educational system.”
The initial offering is a comprehensive, 70-hour Orton-Gillingham Associate Level Training, which provides a foundational understanding of structured, multisensory language instruction. The partnership is set to expand with future offerings, including a dyslexia simulation and shared resources among both organizations.
“Marburn Academy is widely respected for its expertise and track record in the “Science of Reading”, Kristi Perry, OG Literacy Specialist and Sensible Learning Co-Founder said. “Their designation as a Orton-Gillingham Academy accredited language instruction program and their long-standing success with students make them an ideal partner. We are thrilled to see the positive impact this partnership will have on educators and, in turn, on countless students.”
The training is scheduled to begin on October 1, 2025. More information and registration is available at www.sensible-learning.com/shop/courses-workshops.
