Annual Gala 2024

Marburn Academy SHINE 2024

Marburn Academy's 42nd Annual Gala: SHINE was an incredible success! Through the generosity and support of the community, the event raised more than $280,000 for scholarships for students who learn differently, exceeding the goal for the night by over $10K.

On April 19th, more than 225 guests joined Marburn at The Junto in downtown Columbus. The event started with emcee Angela An from WBNS 10-TV taking the stage along with Marburn parent and board member Lara Ray. Together they set the stage for the evening, sharing Marburn's mission and details for the night. They then invited Board Chair Tim Martin and Head of School Eldrich Carr to introduce the 2024 SHINE Honorees, Bob White Sr. and Tom White, whose Daimler Group was instrumental in building Marburn's beautiful facility in New Albany.

Next up was the Head of High School, Brandon Zall, who introduced the night's video, an emotional journey of the trials and tribulations students and families face when searching for educational options for those who learn differently. The poignant moment resonated with Marburn and non-Marburn parents alike throughout the audience.

Special guest Bob McElligott, Marburn alumni parent and the Radio Voice of the Columbus Blue Jackets, then came to the stage and gave the participants the charge for the night: exceed the $270K goal through donations, raffle ticket sales, and bidding on live and silent auction items. Guests then had time to mingle and enjoy refreshments before auctioneer John Rogers facilitated a lively and exciting live auction of one-of-a-kind experiences and packages. The party continued after that, with Marburn Alum DJ MDizzle spinning the tunes until the end of the night when Angela An returned to announce the final amount raised.

Thank you to all the sponsors, donors, volunteers, and guests who made this incredible night possible! We look forward to seeing everyone back in spring 2025!
