Development
Office of Development
Marburn Academy is guided by a unique dual mission.
The first goal is to provide central Ohio with a school offering the finest education for bright children who learn differently. State-of-the-art curricula have been designed to enable students with ADHD and dyslexia and other learning differences to acquire the skills, self-knowledge and strengths to succeed.
The second goal is to serve as a resource to the community and act as a catalyst to improve diagnostic and educational services available to people with learning differences.
To accomplish our goals, Marburn Academy’s original Board of Trustees (1981) established a tradition of offering financial assistance to as many families as possible. This effort requires Marburn’s Office of Development to raise over $350,000 per school year to cover financial aid and the cost of operating the school that are not covered by tuition.
Marburn Academy is funded by tuition and private charitable contributions not tax dollars. Over the past 25 years, Marburn has returned over $5.5 million dollars to the community in form of student scholarships.
The Director of Development oversees numerous advancement activities each school year including:
• Annual Giving Campaign
• Scholars Trust Program
• Corporate Giving
• Spring luncheon/evening celebration
• Alumni Relations
• Special School/Board Events
I feel that Marburn Academy changed our daughter's life. There isn't anything about the program I would change. I only wish you had a new building or a better playground." ~Comment from Marburn Academy Parent Survey, 2004
